Eraina Taverna

Erania Taverna is a restaurant where late-night drunkenness is not so much tolerated as positively required. Sitting at a table with a friend after a boozy night out, your faithful reviewer's face was literally inches away from his ricotta, apparently emitting faint snoring noises. Spotting our hero's plight, the manager came over, gently shook him awake, asked if everything was alright, and brought over a bottle of wine 'for the young gentlemen.' Of course, we have no way of knowing, but we like to think he didn't charge that bit of the order to my credit card. To be honest, you would have to be fairly drunk to think much of the food, but at those times when your palate isn't quite as refined as usual, the eccentric atmosphere is a great way to round off an evening.
