The Mitre
Situated next to the Baron of Beef, and another popular haunt with the tourist crowd who are suckers for a real open fire. It's a very nice fire, but it can't disguise the fact that The Mitre resembles Steptoe's front room. Plenty of guest beers for the real ale aficionados, and also plenty of stupid pearls of wisdom splattered across the walls. Dull, expensive and lacking in any sort of atmosphere. And that's just its good points. Food: 12pm-2.30pm
