Champion of the Thames
Does anyone give a shit about the Boat Race anymore? Obviously those involved do, and their friends and family, but come on, do you know who won the last one? Fortunately no one inside this tiny pub cares either. It's the kind of place where the walls are plastered with pictures of locals in various inebriated poses. You might feel as though you're intruding on someone's private party when you walk in, but don't worry –they don't mind as long as you don't get in the way of their drinking and wild stories. Grab a table by the open fire and talk about inconsequential matters –like the Boat Race. And as unbelievable as it sounds, the Thames now has Tuesday night live music sessions. It was one of those 'best kept secrets', but the cat's well and truly out of the bag now. A true itchy favourite.
