While supporters still cling to the idea that the Cambridge United's are a big club, reality just keeps stamping on their poor, bruised fingers. Grinding out results at Leyton Orient on the wrong side of mid-table, as hated enemies Peterboro skip around cheerfully in the league above would be bad enough, but the board's '£10-and-a-bag-of-chips' selling policy is beginning to anger even the most understanding fan. Newfound French eccentrics Herve Renard and Claude Le Roy may be enough to knock some 'va va voom' into the squad, but going on the club's track record are just as likely to disappear in a cloud of Gauloise smoke while they wrangle over who gets first dibs on the aforementioned bag of chips.
