Loch Fyne
A 'fish restaurant', as all children of the 80s know, is the correct term for an uppity chip shop with a couple of Formica tables. Loch Fyne does things rather differently and, perhaps appropriately, their chips are rubbish. Still, there are plenty of oysters to have you winking at the bus driver on the way home, and the Scottish-style fish is great, if a little oily. Décor is less encouraging, with arty shots of the loch itself stranded between nursing home calibre watercolours of, you guessed it, fish. Best to go when you're feeling patient, as the clientele of yapping suits can spoil a perfectly lovely taste of the underwater kingdom.
