Hotpot Chinese Restaurant
Hidden within West Chesterton's Guardian-reading 'muesli belt', the clientele is middle-class, middle-aged and more likely to be sipping Beaujolais than swilling lager with their Kung Po. The menu is standard Chinese takeaway fare but freshly prepared and delicately flavoured, so no MSG-induced migraines. What really makes this, ahem, bite-sized restaurant a local speciality, however, is the service. A family-run affair, the nice lady will listen to your problems, pour your Tiger beer, maybe even wipe your mouth with a spit-moistened tissue if you're good boys and girls. A fine place to relax your mind and stomach muscles in homely comfort, but will the regulars please stop ordering wine with their meals? It's a Chinese, not Michel's bloody Brasserie.
