Hobbs Pavilion
A converted cricket pavilion whose owners have for once ignored the potential to make it a gimmicky nostalgia-fest. Yep, no tea and scones here any more, just some fairly standard Mediterranean cuisine. While it's refreshing not to be surrounded by signed photos of Geoff Boycott, the setting means it gets cramped inside, while the outside seating is fairly basic and windswept. The cricket pitch outside can be quite diverting, although an amateur batsman can add a dangerous thrill to proceedings.
