A fun night out for America-haters as Chilli's provides enough material for a lifetime of mockery. Whatever your feelings about the US it's fair to say that it's not famed for its cuisine, so why theme a bloody great restaurant around it? Are the bleak, deprived British supposed to blink at the neon lights and blindly accept the notions of size over quality, and fried grub over decent food? Any restaurant that gives away balloons probably isn't asking to be judged on its food, but asking people to pay over the odds for such average fare is just asking for trouble.
